Houryuji Kondo Hekigashu

Houryuji Kondo Hekigashu is a series of photographs of the wall art from Houryuji Kondo in Nara. These are the only existing photographs of the artwork that exist, as the artwork was destroyed by fire after the images were taken. The work is entirely Buddhist artwork, drawing heavy influences from the Chinese and Indian styles which permeate Buddhist artwork in Japan.
